What is a factory reset and how can I reset snu:mee to the factory settings?

A factory reset changes all of snu:mees settings back to the original settings they were when snu:mee first came out of the box. These are mainly Wi-Fi network settings, but also things like the sleep timer, shuffle or repeat modes in the mp3 player.

Can snu:mee only play back music by Baby Stars - rock2sleep?

No. snu:mee can play back any music or audiobook file as long as it is in MP3, WAV or AAC format.

What is firmware and why would I need to upgrade it?

Firmware is the internal software that runs and controls snu:mee's electronics. We are constantly working on improving it. Sometimes that means little improvements to make the system even more stable, but sometimes that also means new cool features. We strongly advise for the user to perform a firmware upgrade whenever one becomes available. It is very easy to do, straight from the app.

How will I know when there is a new Firmware Upgrade available?

You will be notified in the App. Also we will communicate it on the news section in our portal and our Facebook page.

Baby Monitor

What happens to the baby monitor when I'm talking on the phone?

If the baby monitor is avtive in the background and you are on a phone call it will still alert you throgh a screen notficitation and vibration and/or local message, depending on what screen your phone is showing while being on the call.

Where is snu:mee's microphone located

The microphone is behind that little hole on the left in the speaker grille.

Can I use the baby monitor with more than one phone at the same time?

No, snu:mee will disable the player (and all buttons on snu:mee) when entering the baby monitor mode and vice versa.

Is the connection safe?

snu:mee is connected to your Wi-Fi network with standard Wi-Fi security features. You need a password in order to connect and the user can set a password of choice with either WEP, WPA Personal, WPA2 Personal or WPA2/WPA Mixed Mode standards. Additionally, the baby monitor works with added security. It can only communicate with one handset device at a time with an exclusive connection that you cannot access from any other smart device.

Can people hack into my baby monitor and talk to my baby?

A Hacker would have to not only hack himself into the Wi-Fi network, but would also have to find a way to break the exclusive connection between snu:mee and your phone, which is next to impossible.

Can I use the baby monitor without the power adaptor?

You can technically use snu:mee as a baby monitor without the power supply for a short period of time. However, we don't recommend it. In order to for the baby monitor to last through a night it needs to be connected to a power source.

Can I use the baby monitor with a power bank?

This takes a little bit of trial and error. Depending on the power bank you may find it can last you for a few hours, but we can not guarantee it. It's definitely something we do not recommend, unless you have tested it enough to know how long it would last you.

Can I listen and talk to the baby at the same time?

No. In order to talk back you have to push a button in the app that will turn off snu:mee's microphone and switch it back if you want to listen. Since the microphone is next to the speaker inside snu:mee the speaker signal (your voice) would go right back into microphone over and over again and would result in bad feedback. It kind of functions like a Walkie Talkie.

Can I use snu:mee on vacation without any router or other network?

Yes. snu:mee will work without any Wi-Fi router. You can set it up as an access point directly with your smartphone if you want to use it on vacation, in the car, outside or anywhere else.

Yes. snu:mee acts as a Wi-Fi extender/repeater. Depending on how you place it in your house it can extend your router's range significantly.

Yes. Any obstacle, any wall will reduce snu:mee's range, just like any other wireless device. Wall thickness is a big factor.

Play back music in any app in your phone/tablet and select "snu:mee" from the list of available Wi-Fi speakers. On iOS you can find it when you pull up the Control Center screen from the bottom. On Android you can find and select snu:mee as a DLNA device.

Will snu:mee remember my Router and password?

snu:mee will definitely remember the name and password of your router once you leave and come back to your home area.

After changing snu:mee from Access Point to Repeater the progress bar stops at 99%...

This happens because in this process snu:mee gets a new IP address reassigned by your router, which means the app can't find it anymore under the previous address. Hence it won't know whether the process went all the way through to 100%. Usually this is nothing to worry about and the change still happened properly. You may have to completely close and reopen the app, because it is still looking for snu:mee under the old IP address (10.100.1.1). Usually the router will give snu:mee a new address which usually is something like (192.168.x.x).

Can I access my recordings from my music library in my smart device?

The transferred songs may only be visible after you go back to the "Manage Music" page and click on the "All content" playlist. I can't see the news page.

Most likely snu:mee is configured as an access point. As an access point snu:mee sets up a direct Wi-Fi connection with your smart device. In this mode snu:mee is not connected to the internet which means in return your phone cannot connect to the internet through Wi-Fi until you set up snu:mee as a repeater and connect it to an existing Wi-Fi network such as your home network.
